**Job Description:**

**About the Role:**
As a Critical Care Registered Nurse, you'll be at the forefront of patient care, making a real impact on the lives of those you serve. You will:
- Coordinate and implement patient care tailored to the needs of diverse age groups.
- Ensure the delivery of high-quality, efficient, and safe care in line with established unit standards.
- Collaborate effectively with your peers, physicians, patients, and families while promoting a respectful and supportive environment.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Conduct thorough initial assessments and establish care priorities based on patient age and needs.
- Re-assess patients regularly to identify progress and adjust care plans as necessary.
- Develop and execute individualized care plans that are measurable and comply with nursing standards.
- Make informed nursing decisions and modify plans based on evaluation outcomes.
- Engage in patient and family health education and discharge planning.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of care plans and interventions.
- Perform Point of Care testing procedures as needed.
**Staff Responsibilities:**
- Utilize effective communication strategies resulting in intended patient care outcomes.
- Delegate tasks to ensure timely completion of important care activities.
- Adjust team assignments based on patient needs and unit requirements, following up on all delegated tasks for quality.
- Participate in the orientation and mentoring of new staff and students.
- Act as a resource for visitors, physicians, and fellow staff, promoting a welcoming atmosphere.
- Foster a positive work environment through professional and supportive interactions.
- Contribute to the unit's growth and development by actively participating in quality improvement initiatives.
**Customer Relations:**
- Deliver high levels of patient satisfaction and respect for patient rights, needs, and confidentiality.
- Exhibit effective communication and human relations skills that enhance teamwork and harmony.
- Uphold the hospital’s credibility and integrity through positive interactions.
**Other Responsibilities:**
- Assist with special projects as assigned.
- Interpret and communicate Human Resources policies accurately.
- Demonstrate adaptability and maintain a positive attitude even in stressful situations.
- Take responsibility for your professional growth and development.
- Comply with all policies and procedures to ensure patient and environmental safety.
**Requirements:**
- **Education:** Graduate of an accredited program for Registered Nursing.
- **Certifications/Licenses:**
- Current New Mexico RN license or current Compact state license
- Current BLS Certification
- Current ACLS Certification
- Current TNCC Certification
- **Skills:**
- Knowledge of and sensitivity to patients’ rights in care delivery.
- Clear and concise communication appropriate to the developmental age of the patient.
