Las Palmas Medical Center in El Paso, Texas is seeking a Clinical Nurse Coordinator for the Cath Lab to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team. As a key clinical leader, you will coordinate and deliver high-quality nursing care to patients undergoing cardiac catheterization, interventional cardiology procedures, and related diagnostic studies. Working within a fast-paced, highly technical environment, you will oversee daily patient flow in the Cath Lab, support physicians and the care team during procedures, and ensure that all clinical practices follow hospital policies, evidence-based guidelines, and regulatory standards.
In this role, you will serve as a clinical resource and mentor for Cath Lab nurses and techs, assisting with staff orientation, ongoing competency development, and performance feedback. You will participate in patient assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care before, during, and after procedures, including hemodynamic monitoring, administration of medications, sedation monitoring per protocol, management of vascular access sites, and rapid recognition and response to changes in patient condition. You will help coordinate schedules and case assignments, optimize room turnover, and collaborate with cardiologists, anesthesiologists, radiology, and other departments to support safe, efficient operations and positive patient outcomes.
The Clinical Nurse Coordinator Cath Lab will also play an active role in quality improvement initiatives, including monitoring key quality and safety indicators, assisting with incident review and follow-up, and reinforcing best practices for infection prevention, radiation safety, and patient/family education. You will maintain accurate and timely documentation within the electronic health record, ensure appropriate use and care of specialized Cath Lab equipment, and support readiness for accreditation and regulatory surveys.
At Las Palmas Medical Center, we are focused on meeting the health needs of the El Paso community, fostering a collaborative environment, and delivering compassionate care. The ideal candidate is a Registered Nurse with strong cardiac or critical care background, previous Cath Lab or interventional experience, and demonstrated leadership potential. You should be comfortable working with complex cardiac patients, learning and using advanced imaging and monitoring technologies, and prioritizing multiple urgent demands while maintaining meticulous attention to safety. This is a full-time position based on-site in the Cath Lab with the expectation of participation in call rotation, variable shifts depending on procedural volume, and occasional overtime to support patient and departmental needs. Joining Las Palmas Medical Center offers the opportunity to grow professionally, contribute to life-saving cardiac care, and make a meaningful impact on patients and families in the El Paso community.
