We are seeking a Clinical Nurse Coordinator – OR to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team within the perioperative department. This Registered Nurse position plays a key role in coordinating operating room activities while delivering exceptional, patient-centered care.

The Clinical Nurse Coordinator – OR is responsible for facilitating safe, efficient clinical operations in the surgical environment. Acting as both a clinical resource and a team leader, this nurse coordinates patient flow, staffing assignments, and room utilization to support timely, high-quality surgical care. In collaboration with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and the perioperative team, the coordinator helps ensure that patients receive comprehensive care throughout the pre-, intra-, and post-operative phases. The role includes providing direct bedside nursing care in the operating room when needed, performing thorough assessments, monitoring patient status, implementing physician orders, and maintaining accurate electronic health record documentation.

In alignment with Mission Health’s culture of teamwork, respect, and professional growth, the Clinical Nurse Coordinator – OR supports and mentors nursing staff, fostering a collaborative, learning-focused environment. This position participates in onboarding, training, and ongoing competency validation for OR nurses, and serves as a resource for evidence-based practice and clinical decision-making. The coordinator assists with the development, implementation, and evaluation of clinical protocols and policies designed to enhance patient safety, promote infection prevention, and standardize high-quality care.

The Clinical Nurse Coordinator – OR also engages in performance and quality improvement initiatives, including data collection, auditing, and participation in interdisciplinary committees. This role helps ensure compliance with regulatory standards and hospital policies, maintains adherence to aseptic and sterile techniques, and reinforces best practices in equipment use and surgical site safety. Effective communication with patients and families is essential, as the coordinator provides education, anticipatory guidance, and updates to support a positive surgical experience.
