Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of ICU nursing experience in an acute care hospital
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- Active Illinois RN license in good standing
- BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association
ICU Nurse Responsibilities
- Deliver professional, compassionate care to ICU patients using the nursing process
- Perform all duties required in the ICU unit, including critical care procedures
- Implement evidence-based practices for acute and critical care nursing
- Conduct initial patient assessments and develop individualized care plans
- Accurately document nursing care and collaborate with the healthcare team
- Evaluate and adjust care plans based on patient progress and clinical outcomes
- Promote patient and staff safety by identifying and correcting hazards
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and clinical colleagues
- Support peer development and participate in ongoing nursing education
- Meet all departmental competencies and standards for ICU nursing
