- Location: Harvey, IL 60426 – Prime location for Chicago nursing jobs and Illinois healthcare professionals
- Setting: Medical/Surgical Float Pool
- Contract Length: 13 weeks (Start: 1/12/2026 – End: 4/13/2026)
- Shift: Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts/week (06:45 – 19:15)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Patient Ratio: 1:6
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- Floating: Required within the float pool
- Charting System: Epic EMR
Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Active Illinois RN license (required for Illinois nursing jobs)
- Minimum 2 years recent Med/Surg RN experience (required)
- BLS and ACLS certifications (required)
- NIHSS certification (preferred)
- Ability to pass EKG strip test at orientation (for Telemetry positions)
- COVID-19 vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
- Two professional references (one from a direct supervisor/manager)
- Experience with adult and geriatric patient populations
RN Responsibilities – Medical/Surgical Nursing Jobs
- Deliver high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in a fast-paced Med/Surg float pool environment
- Manage a patient load of up to 6 patients per shift
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Pharmacy, and Social Services
- Monitor, assess, and document patient conditions using Epic EMR
- Interpret and manage dysrhythmias; provide telemetry care as needed
- Float to various hospital units as required
- Work every other weekend as part of the regular schedule
- Participate in orientation and complete required modules prior to start
