- Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM (12-hour day shifts)

- Unit: 3rd Medical, Shoals Building
- Number of Beds: 36
- Patient Ratios: 1:6, occasional 1:7 during surges
- Staffing Support: Unit Secretary (day shift), Licensed Nursing Assistants (LNAs) for both shifts
- Equipment: Telemetry
- Documentation System: Meditech Expanse
- Scheduling: 3 x 12-hour shifts per week, every other weekend, rotating holidays, self-scheduling available
- Floating: Float to same level of care as needed
Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of recent hospital experience (Med/Surg RN experience preferred)
- Active Compact RN License required at submission
- BLS certification required
- IV certification required
- Experience with telemetry monitoring and Meditech Expanse preferred
Med/Surg RN Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality, compassionate patient care in a medical-surgical setting
- Perform bedside shift reports, hourly safety rounding, and foster personal patient connections
- Carry out advanced nursing procedures: CBI, wound care, drain management (chest tubes, Jackson Pratt), foley insertion, central line dressing changes, telemetry monitoring, and EKGs
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team, including unit secretaries and LNAs
- Document patient care accurately using Meditech Expanse
- Float to similar Med/Surg units as required to meet patient care needs
