- Location: Falls Church, VA 22042 (Northern Virginia nursing jobs)
- Facility: Level I Trauma Center Emergency Department
- Employment Type: Travel Nurse Contract
- Start Date: December 15, 2025
- End Date: March 14, 2026
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks
- Shift: 12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Weekend Requirement: 5 weekend shifts every 6 weeks
- On-Call: 2 on-call shifts per 6 weeks
- Holiday Requirement: 1 major and 1 minor holiday
- Floating: Required to offsite Emergency Departments (Fairfax City and Reston/Herndon locations)
Emergency Room RN Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Virginia or compact state)
- BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, TNCC, and CPI certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of recent Emergency Department nursing experience
- Experience in Level I or Level II trauma centers required
- EPIC EMR experience highly preferred
- Previous travel nurse experience preferred
- Strong clinical skills and ability to thrive in a high-volume ER (approx. 350 patients/day)
- Willingness to float to smaller offsite EDs as needed
ER Nurse Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality, compassionate patient care in a busy Emergency Department
- Assess, triage, and manage patients with acute and emergent medical conditions
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure optimal outcomes
- Medically clear psychiatric patients for admission
- Utilize sitters and coordinate with hospital security for patient safety
- Document all care using EPIC EMR system
- Participate in scheduled on-call and float assignments
- Maintain compliance with hospital policies and procedures
