Travel Nurse Job Details

- Duration: 13 weeks
- Shift: 4x12-hour day shifts (07:30 AM – 07:30 PM)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend required
- Patient Ratios: Days 1:6, Nights 1:7, Weekends 1:8
- Charting System: Epic (required)
Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Active and unrestricted New York Registered Nurse license (RN license must be in hand at submission)
- Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg Telemetry RN experience
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- Epic charting experience required
- BLS certification (American Heart Association)
- Must reside more than 50 miles from facility
- Ability to float to other units as needed
Med/Surg Tele RN Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients with diagnoses including COPD, pneumonia, abdominal pain, cellulitis, and chest pain rule-out
- Monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry, manage dysrhythmias, and respond to rapid response/code situations
- Administer oxygen therapy (nasal cannula, oxygen tanks), manage peripheral IV lines, and provide non-invasive airway management
- Implement isolation precautions and follow infection control protocols
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, and radiology
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation using Epic electronic health records
- Participate in orientation and complete required training modules prior to start
