Med/Surg RN Job Details

- Assignment Type: Travel Contract
- Unit: Medical-Surgical (Med/Surg)
- Start Date: January 19, 2026
- End Date: April 20, 2026
- Duration: 13 weeks
- Shift: Nights, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM (12-hour shifts)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Guaranteed Hours: 48-hour guarantees available (request at submission)
- Block Scheduling: May be accommodated (request at submission)
- Patient Ratio: 1:6, occasionally 1:7
- Scrubs: Royal Blue
- EMR: Cerner, Mindray Telemetry System
Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Active RN license (Registered Nurse)
- Minimum 1 year recent Med/Surg nursing experience
- BLS certification required
- ACLS certification preferred
- Ability to float as needed (may float to ICU for Med/Surg overflow or step-down patients)
- Fingerprinting required for all New Mexico healthcare travelers (ensure agency registration with the state of New Mexico; process may take several weeks)
Med/Surg RN Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care to Medical-Surgical patients following hospital policies and procedures
- Monitor, assess, and document patient conditions and responses to treatment
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed
- Educate and support patients and families
- Float to other units as needed, including ICU for Med/Surg overflow or step-down patients
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation using Cerner and Mindray Telemetry System
