Full-Time Schedule Available | 12-Hour Shifts | Autonomy + Strong Support | All Ages
Rhino Medical is leading the charge seeking an adaptable, patient-focused Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for a full-time Urgent Care locum tenens assignment in Garden City, Kansas.
This is a stable outpatient setting with excellent support staff, manageable volume, and the opportunity to practice autonomously while still working within a collaborative team. New grads with strong clinical rotations will also be considered.

- Urgent Care Hours:
- Monday–Saturday: 8:00 AM – 8:00 PM
- Sunday: 1:00 PM – 7:00 PM
- Shifts: Full 12-hour shifts Mon–Sat; shorter Sunday shifts
- Start Date: ASAP / ongoing
- EMR: eClinicalWorks
- Support: Robust MA & clinic support staff
Clinical Scope
- Urgent Care for all ages
- Typical daily volume: 20–30 patients/day
- Minor procedures (e.g., suturing, splinting, I&D)
- Some Occupational Medicine (drug screens, work comp)
- DOT Certification not required to submit — employer will assist if needed
- Must be comfortable working independently at times
Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive UC evaluations: illness, injury, follow-ups
- Order and interpret X-rays, labs, and diagnostics
- Perform minor procedures and wound care
- Manage acute conditions: URI, UTI, strains/sprains, lacerations, dermatologic complaints
- Document patient encounters accurately in eClinicalWorks
- Provide patient education & communicate clear treatment plans
- Coordinate care with local specialists as needed
Candidate Requirements
- NP or PA license—Active Kansas license strongly preferred
- National certification (NCCPA, AANP, ANCC)
- BLS required
- Experience in UC, ED, FM, or EM preferred — new grads accepted
- Ability to work independently and maintain high-quality patient care
