- Assignment Length: 13 weeks
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
- Shift: 12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM), every other weekend and holiday
Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Massachusetts
- Minimum 2 years of recent Emergency Room nursing experience
- At least 1 year of ER travel nurse experience preferred
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification (required)
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Certification (required)
- Successful completion of Pharmacology and Basic Arrhythmia exams
- Proficient in IV administration, IV starts, ventilator care, and telemetry monitoring
- Strong communication skills in English
- TNCC, ENPC, and PALS certifications preferred
- De-escalation certification course completion preferred
Emergency Room Nurse Responsibilities
- Provide patient care using the nursing process: assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
- Administer medications and monitor patient responses
- Direct and guide patient care and teaching for ancillary staff
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date patient records and documentation
- Develop care plans and manage discharge planning
- Communicate effectively with allied healthcare providers
- Serve as charge nurse and resource for ER nursing staff
- Participate in staff meetings, mandatory programs, and professional development
- Follow safety and infection control protocols
- Deliver service excellence to patients, families, and colleagues
- Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisor
