Key Job Details – OR RN Travel Assignment
- Location: Freeport, Illinois (61032) – Northwest Illinois healthcare jobs
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks (Start: January 12, 2026 – End: April 13, 2026)
- Healthcare Setting: Acute Care – Operating Room
- Shift: 10-hour day shifts
- Hours: 40 hours per week guaranteed
- Call Rotation: 1 weeknight per week and every 4-5th weekend (24-hour call on weekends)
- Orientation: 1-2 weeks with preceptor
Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Active Illinois RN license (required for submission)
- Minimum 1 year recent Operating Room Registered Nurse experience (2-5 years preferred; strong candidates with less experience considered)
- Current certifications: BLS (AHA), ACLS, and PALS
- Experience in general surgery, orthopedics, ENT, urology, gynecology, C-sections, and podiatry preferred
- Familiarity with Meditech EMR is a plus
- Previous travel nursing experience and well-rounded OR skills highly valued
- Cataract surgery experience is a plus
- Disclosure of any prior employment at FHN Memorial locations required
Operating Room Nurse Responsibilities
- Deliver safe, high-quality perioperative nursing care to surgical patients in a dynamic OR environment
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and surgical techs for optimal patient outcomes
- Assist with a wide range of surgical procedures: general, orthopedic, ENT, urology, gynecology, OB C-sections, and podiatry
- Participate in call rotation, responding within a 20-minute timeframe
- Document patient care accurately using Meditech EMR
- Comply with hospital policies, infection control, and safety protocols
- Engage in department orientation and ongoing professional development
