Job Details:
• Work 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• 13-week contract length
• Every other weekend requirement
• Must be available to work every other holiday if needed
• Patient ratio 1:2, with occasional 1:1 for Impella patients based on acuity
• EPIC charting experience required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Active New York Single State RN license required (NY is not Compact)
• 2 years of experience required with previous travel experience
• Must live more than 75 miles from facility
• Scrub color: Any combination of navy blue and white
• Floating required within ICU skillset
• 24 hours of orientation provided
• Clinical skills required: arterial line management, central line care, PICC line management, blood product administration, ventilator management, HFNC, BiPAP/CPAP support, chest tube assistance, continuous IV sedation and paralytics, emergency medications, procedural sedation, cardiac and vasoactive drip titration, CABG care, Impella, IABP, LVAD/RVAD, Swan-Ganz monitoring, CVVHD/CRRT, dysrhythmia interpretation, 12-lead EKG acquisition, infection prevention, wound vac care, and management of multisystem organ dysfunction patients
• Care for patients with sepsis, ARDS, renal failure, heart failure, pre-VAD workups, alcohol withdrawal, overdose, multi-organ failure, post cardiac arrest, respiratory failure, and various advanced cardiac devices

This healthcare organization operates a 528-bed acute care teaching facility that is Magnet-recognized and certified as an Advanced Thrombectomy Capable Stroke Center. The CVICU provides expert care for critically ill cardiac surgery patients, including heart transplant and advanced cardiac device management. The unit features 24/7 provider coverage, collaborative multidisciplinary teams, and strong support for family communication and post-operative rehabilitation. The facility is affiliated with major medical centers and offers comprehensive specialized services with state-of-the-art equipment including ECMO, LVAD, RVAD, and IABP capabilities.
