Key Job Details – Labor & Delivery RN
- Location: Salem, MA 01970 (Greater Boston Area)
- Healthcare Setting: Labor & Delivery / Postpartum Unit
- Contract Length: 13 weeks (1/18/2026 – 4/18/2026)
- Nursing Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM), 36 or 48 hours/week, every other weekend, 1 night of call
- Unit Details: 25-bed unit: Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, Newborn, 2 ORs, 2 Recovery Rooms, 2 Antepartum Rooms
- Average Census: 15–25 mothers, babies, and labors daily
- EMR System: EPIC
- Floating: Not required
Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of recent Labor & Delivery RN experience
- Active Massachusetts Registered Nurse license
- BLS, NRP, and EFM certifications (EFM required every 2 years for L&D)
- ACLS certification preferred
- Clinical proficiency in Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, Circulating, and Newborn Care
- Ability to work every other weekend and take one night of call as scheduled
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
Labor & Delivery RN Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care to mothers and newborns in Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, and Newborn units
- Circulate in the operating room for obstetric procedures
- Monitor, assess, and document patient care using EPIC EMR
- Collaborate with physicians, midwives, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team
- Educate patients and families on postpartum and newborn care best practices
- Maintain a safe, supportive, and compassionate environment for patients and families
