Opportunity:
Registered Nurse - PCU
Job Details:
• Work 3x12 or 4x12 hour shifts with self-scheduling
• Acuity-based patient ratios: MS patients 1:5-6, PCU patients 1:3-4
• Weekend coverage required with 2 out of 3 major holidays mandatory
• Float required as needed within hospital or to affiliate hospitals
• 36 hours of orientation provided
• Must have 1+ years of nursing experience with solid neuro experience
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Must have experience with Cardizem, Amiodarone, Lasix, Insulin drips, Post Heart Cath, and Post Pace-maker procedures
• Work with mixed acuity unit patients including medical surgical and progressive care levels
• Care areas include oncology, stroke, cardiac, gastrointestinal, and pulmonary patients
• Manage cardiac drips with titration capabilities for insulin, Amio, and Cardizem drips
• Handle unstable strokes and BiPap patients
• Use Cerner charting system
• Dress code: red scrub top with black bottoms
• Free parking available
• Indiana state, compact, or temporary license required prior to start
• Travel experience preferred, locals not accepted for this position
• Must confirm experience with accessing/managing ports, blood product administration, central line care, CVA management, external CPAP/BIPAP, heparin protocols, IV insulin protocols, cardiac drip management, telemetry, post cardiac angiogram and cath procedures
