We are seeking an experienced Emergency Medicine Nurse Practitioner for a 6-day locum tenens assignment in Colorado. This opportunity begins on Jan 11, 2026, and features 24-hour on-site shifts (typically 12-15 hours plus night call). The provider will manage admits and rounding, and must be comfortable serving as the sole provider with telemedicine and trauma backup available.

- Schedule: 24-hour shifts on site (typically 12-15 hour shift plus night call); shifts run 12pm to 12pm; last day handoff can occur between 12pm and 3pm
Responsibilities and Duties
- Serve as the sole provider in the emergency department, managing all aspects of patient care
- Perform admissions and rounding
- Conduct procedures including intubations, vent management, central lines, chest tubes, paracentesis, thoracentesis, dislocation reduction, ED bedside ultrasound, lumbar puncture, adult and pediatric resuscitation, and procedural sedation
- Coordinate with Avel E-Care telemedicine for consults, transfers, and trauma support
- Work collaboratively with on-site flight team and EMS
- Maintain communication with an MD within a 20-minute radius for trauma backup
Additional Information
- Active Colorado Nurse Practitioner license required
- Board certification in Emergency Medicine required
- Must be comfortable performing advanced procedures independently
