Med/Surg Tele RN Job Details – Odessa, TX

- Assignment Type: Travel Registered Nurse
- Unit: Flexpool – Med/Surg Tele (Medical Surgical Telemetry)
- Start Date: January 13, 2026
- End Date: April 14, 2026
- Duration: 13-week nursing contract
- Shift: Night shifts, 12 hours (18:45 – 07:15)
- Hours per Week: 36-48 (facility will consider 48 hours/week or 36/48 alternating)
- Patient Ratio: Up to 6:1
- COVID-19 Vaccine: Not required
- Flu Vaccine: Required (medical/religious exemptions allowed)
Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Active Texas Registered Nurse (RN) license
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
- NIHSS certification required
- Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg Telemetry nursing experience
- Willingness to float to other Medical Surgical/Telemetry units as assigned
- Cerner charting experience preferred
- Travel nurses must reside outside a 50-mile radius from the facility
- Resume required with submission
Med/Surg Tele RN Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality nursing care to patients in the Medical Surgical Telemetry unit
- Monitor, assess, and document patient conditions and responses to treatment
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by healthcare providers
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Float to other Med/Surg/Tele units as needed
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation using Cerner (preferred)
- Provide compassionate support and education to patients and their families
