PCU Nursing Job Details
- Location: Columbus, Ohio (43210) – Ohio nursing jobs
- Unit: 36-bed Oncology Telemetry (Progressive Care Unit)
- Contract Type: Travel RN contract
- Start Date: January 26, 2026
- End Date: May 18, 2026
- Duration: 16 weeks
- Shifts: Rotating 12-hour shifts (Days: 07:00-19:30, Nights: 19:00-07:30), 3 shifts/week
- Hours per Week: 36
- Self-scheduling: Yes – submit preferred schedule requests
- Orientation: 1 week classroom, 36 hours on-unit with preceptor
Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license – Ohio or compact state
- Minimum 1 year recent high-acuity PCU experience
- Oncology nursing experience preferred
- Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
- Epic EMR charting experience required
- Graduate of ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
- 2 professional references (1 from supervisor/manager/charge RN)
- Ability to float to similar or lower acuity units
- Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only); COVID-19 vaccine not required
PCU Nurse Responsibilities
- Deliver compassionate, high-quality care to adult oncology and orthopedic patients
- Monitor and interpret telemetry and cardiac rhythms
- Administer blood products, manage central/peripheral lines, perform port access
- Care for patients with solid tumors, orthopedic oncology, and thoracic oncology diagnoses
- Utilize specialized equipment: GE telemetry monitors, bladder scanners, Alaris pumps, Stryker beds, PCA pumps
- Implement infection prevention and patient safety protocols
- Participate in rapid response/code teams
- Float to other PCU or MedSurg Oncology units as needed
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (PT, RT, pharmacy, social services)
