- Contract Duration: 13 weeks
- Shift: 3x12 hour day shifts (07:00 - 19:30), weekdays with occasional weekends and rotating holidays
- Hours per Week: 36
- Patient Ratio: 1:5
- On-Site Position
PCU RN Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Ohio or compact state
- Minimum 2 years of recent Progressive Care Unit (PCU) nursing experience
- ACLS and BLS certifications required
- Graduate of an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
- Epic charting system experience preferred
- Previous travel nursing experience preferred
- Ability to float to units of equivalent or lower acuity
- Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only)
- Two professional references (one from a manager/director or formal leader)
PCU Nurse Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality clinical care to adult patients in the Progressive Care Unit, focusing on abdominal transplant cases (kidney, liver, pancreas)
- Monitor and assess for organ rejection, infection, acute kidney injury, diabetes management, hepatology, and GI bleeds
- Perform IV starts, telemetry monitoring, and dysrhythmia interpretation
- Care for patients post-kidney biopsy and paracentesis procedures
- Document and coordinate patient care using Epic EMR
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams: Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Radiology, Social Services, Pharmacy
- Maintain a safe, supportive environment for patients and families
- Float to other units as needed within the organization
