- Contract Duration: 13 weeks
- Nursing Shift: Nights, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM (12-hour shifts)
- Hours per Week: 36 guaranteed
- Weekend Requirement: Yes
- Patient Ratios: 1:3-4 (couplets)
- Floating: May float between similar units
- COVID-19 Vaccine: Required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Minimum 1 year of recent Labor & Delivery RN experience (2 years preferred)
- Current certifications: ACLS, NRP, and EFM
- Travel nursing experience required
- STABLE certification preferred
- Ability to work weekends and float as needed
- Pending Maryland RN license accepted
Labor & Delivery Nurse Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care to mothers and newborns in a Level 1 nursery
- Monitor and assess patients during labor, delivery, and postpartum periods
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, and social services
- Educate and support patients and families on postpartum and newborn care, following Baby Friendly guidelines
- Care for NAS babies and assist with critical care in a small nursery as needed
- Document patient care accurately and promptly
- Participate in orientation and required online learning modules
