Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Active Illinois RN license (must be in hand at time of submission)
- Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg nursing experience
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
- NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) certification required
- Ability to pass a dysrhythmia exam (two attempts allowed)
- Strong clinical assessment and communication skills
Med/Surg RN Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality nursing care to adult patients on a busy Med/Surg unit
- Monitor, assess, and document patient conditions and responses to treatment
- Administer medications and perform treatments as ordered by healthcare providers
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Educate patients and families on care plans and post-discharge instructions
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR)
