Job Details:

• Work 12-hour shifts with options for 6:30 AM to 6:30 PM or 6:30 PM to 6:30 AM
• Every other weekend requirement
• Minimum of 2 holidays required that fall within contract timeframe
• 1:2-3 nurse to patient ratio for adults
• 33-bed ICU with average daily census of 16 patients
• Care for trauma, cardiac, overdose/substance abuse, sepsis, post-stent, pacemaker placement, stroke, vascular cases, renal failure, heart failure, and respiratory distress patients
• Required to titrate drips including cardiac drips, insulin, and sedation
• Must read, interpret, and document telemetry strips using GE monitoring system
• Floating to PCU and occasionally MedSurg with typical ratios of 1:4 or 1:5
• Work with respiratory equipment from nasal cannula to ventilators
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Valid driver's license required at submission
• Must pass open book skills exam with 90% or higher during orientation
• Artificial nails prohibited - refusal to remove leads to contract termination
• Chart using EPIC system
• 1 shift of unit-specific orientation provided
• Hospital can cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment

This healthcare facility operates a 33-bed intensive care unit providing Level 2 trauma services in an acute care setting. The ICU specializes in treating a diverse range of critical conditions including cardiac emergencies, trauma cases, and complex medical situations. The unit maintains modern monitoring equipment and respiratory support systems, with dedicated healthcare support technicians and nurse aides available based on census needs to ensure comprehensive patient care.
