PCU Nursing Job Details
- Location: Akron, Ohio 44304
- Unit: 5 West – Cardiac Progressive Care/Telemetry (32 beds)
- Assignment Type: Travel RN contract
- Start Date: January 18, 2026
- End Date: April 18, 2026
- Duration: 13-week nursing contract
- Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
- Hours per Week: 36
Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Ohio or compact state
- Minimum 1 year of recent PCU or Telemetry nursing experience
- ACLS and BLS certifications (American Heart Association preferred)
- Ability to float to other units as needed
- Recent proficiency with Epic EMR (within the last year)
- Skilled in blood draws and IV starts
- Experience with heparin drips, blood product administration, and EKG interpretation
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program
- Solid black scrubs required
- Maximum of 7 days requested time off (RTO); no block scheduling
- Phone interview required – please provide your availability
PCU Nurse Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality patient care in a Cardiac Progressive Care/Telemetry setting
- Monitor and interpret EKGs; respond to cardiac rhythm changes
- Administer medications, including heparin drips and blood products
- Perform blood draws and initiate IVs
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to optimize patient outcomes
- Float to other hospital units as required
- Document patient care using Epic EMR
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies and procedures
