RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

RN - PCU

Job Details:

• Work on an 18-bed Progressive Care Unit with 1:4-5 patient ratios
• Self-scheduling system with requirement to work 3 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule
• No on-call requirements
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIH
• Use Meditech documentation system
• Work with equipment including Alaris pumps, kangaroo pump, Pyxis, and computers available in every room
• Care for patients with moderate physiologic instability including COPD exacerbations, pneumonia, CHF, and trach patients
• Provide cardiac and respiratory monitoring and management every 2-4 hours
• Perform oxygen therapy including nasal cannula, BIPAP/CPAP up to 80%, and AirVo low flow
• Conduct nursing interventions every 3-4 hours including vital signs every 4 hours
• Provide continuous cardiac monitoring and blood glucose monitoring every 4 hours
• Perform neurological monitoring at any frequency including NIHSS assessments
• Required uniform: Royal Blue
• Unit staffing includes 2 PCTs and 1 unit secretary for support
• Floating policy follows order: 1. Travelers, 2. PRN staff, 3. Date last floated
