Labor & Delivery RN Job Details

- Weekend/Holiday: Every other weekend and holiday rotation required
- Estimated Deliveries per Month: 160-180
- Estimated Weekly Salary: $2200-$2360
Labor & Delivery RN Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery RN experience in a high-volume hospital (200-300 deliveries/month preferred)
- High-risk and high-acuity L&D nursing experience required
- Circulating experience required; scrub experience a plus
- Willingness to float to Post-Partum unit 1-2 shifts per week
- Experience with EPIC STORK or similar EMR preferred
- Active Iowa RN license or compact state RN license
- Current BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), NRP, and AWHONN certifications
- Strong clinical assessment and triage skills
- Ability to provide care to a large non-English speaking patient population
- Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility (no local travelers)
Key Responsibilities for Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care to laboring patients, including high-risk and high-acuity cases
- Perform triage and patient assessments prior to physician arrival
- Circulate and assist in deliveries in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
- Float to Post-Partum unit as needed to provide clinical support
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Accurately document patient care using EPIC EMR
- Demonstrate cultural competence and effective communication with diverse patient populations
- Participate in required orientation and ongoing clinical training
