Med/Surg RN Job Details
- Location: Florence, Alabama (35630) – Northern Alabama healthcare jobs
- Setting: Acute care, Medical-Surgical (Med/Surg) unit
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks (Start: January 12, 2026 – End: April 13, 2026)
- Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM), rotating weekends
- Hours per Week: 36 (guaranteed hours)
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $1730–$1820
- Patient Population: Adult and geriatric
- Unit Size: 18 beds
- Patient Ratio: 1:6
- Electronic Health Record: Meditech
- Dress Code: Royal blue scrubs
Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of recent Medical-Surgical RN experience
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license – Alabama or compact state
- BLS certification (required)
- Ability to float to other hospital units as needed
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
Med/Surg RN Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in a Med/Surg hospital setting
- Monitor, assess, and document patient conditions and progress using Meditech EHR
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by healthcare providers
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Maintain accurate and timely nursing documentation
- Participate in unit activities and support a positive healthcare team environment
- Float to other medical units as required
