Job Details:
• Work 36 or 48 hour shifts in Emergency Department
• Patient ratios of 1:5 across all shifts
• 2 years of experience required; Level I Trauma experience preferred
• Travel experience strongly preferred but will consider candidates with 2+ years Level I experience
• Weekend coverage required as needed (weekend days: Saturday/Sunday; weekend nights: Friday/Saturday/Sunday)
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIH (can be pending), PALS, TNCC (must have before submission)
• New Mexico license can be pending at time of submission
• No on-call requirements
• Floating expectations: optional to Pediatric ED, required to Adult PCUs based on staffing needs, potential floating to ED Holding and Trauma
• Guaranteed contracted hours per week with facility allowed to call off 3 times during 13-week assignment
• Medication administration including IV medications, documentation and communication of clinical findings
• Handle approximately 60-80% admission rate with many ED rooms serving as "ED Holding"
• Must have trauma/resuscitation experience and be comfortable with Level I trauma procedures
• Scrub color: Black (not provided by facility)
• Charting system: Cerner
• 24-hour orientation period
• No RQI certifications accepted
Facility:
This major academic medical center serves as a Level I Trauma Center and Children's Hospital with 554 staffed beds. The facility operates as a comprehensive teaching hospital providing advanced emergency services, trauma care, and specialty medical services. The emergency department maintains high patient volumes with 170-200 daily census and approximately 175 visits per day across 53 rooms and 68 beds. The facility is designated as a Certified Comprehensive Stroke Center and provides interdisciplinary support including respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, pharmacy, and transportation services.
