PCU Registered Nurse Job Details
- Location: Barberton, Ohio (44203) – Greater Akron area
- Unit: 4 South (PCU/Telemetry), 24-bed mixed acuity
- Assignment Type: Travel Registered Nurse (RN) contract
- Start Date: January 18, 2026
- End Date: March 21, 2026
- Contract Duration: 9 weeks
- Hours per Week: 36
- Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $1910 – $1960
- Patient Ratios: 1:5/6
- Float: Required to float to other nursing units as needed
PCU RN Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Nursys verification required) – Ohio nursing jobs
- Minimum 2 years of recent PCU or Telemetry nursing experience
- Current ACLS, BLS, and NIH Stroke Scale certifications
- Recent Epic EMR experience (within the last year; must be listed on resume)
- Accredited nursing degree (ACEN or CCNE)
- Ability to request up to 5 days off at submission (no block scheduling)
- Completion of competency exams and health screenings as required for healthcare jobs
PCU Registered Nurse Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality patient care in a Progressive Care Unit and Telemetry setting
- Monitor and assess cardiovascular and neurological patients, including frequent NIH assessments and medication drips
- Provide nursing care for COVID-19 and isolation patients as needed
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to develop and implement patient care plans
- Float to other nursing units to support patient care needs
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation using Epic EMR
- Uphold safety, infection control, and compliance standards in all clinical nursing practices
