- Nursing Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM), 3 shifts/week
- Hours per Week: 36
- Estimated Weekly Salary: $1910 - $1960
- Patient Population: Adolescents, Adults, Pediatrics, Geriatrics
- Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend
- Charting System: Epic EMR
Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Active RN license in Virginia or compact state (required at submission)
- Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg Telemetry RN experience (2 years preferred)
- BLS and ACLS certifications (American Heart Association)
- Experience with Epic charting system
- Community hospital nursing experience preferred
- BSN preferred
- Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions accepted)
- Ability to float within scope as needed
- Two professional nursing references required
Med/Surg Tele RN Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality nursing care to diverse patients in a Med/Surg Telemetry unit
- Monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry, manage cardiac drips (no titration), and respond to rapid response/code teams
- Perform patient assessments, administer medications, provide wound care, and manage surgical drains and central lines
- Document care accurately and efficiently using Epic EMR
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Pharmacy, Social Services)
- Educate patients and families on care plans and discharge instructions
- Follow infection control protocols and isolation precautions
- Complete orientation modules and required training during the first week
