Med/Surg Tele RN Job Details
- Location: Columbus, Ohio (43210) – Ohio healthcare jobs
- Setting: Medical Oncology & Benign Hematology – 17 East and West
- Job Type: Travel RN contract
- Start Date: January 5, 2026
- End Date: April 27, 2026
- Duration: 16 weeks
- Shifts: 3x12-hour rotating shifts (Day: 07:00–19:30 / Night: 19:00–07:30)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Estimated Weekly Salary: $1940–$1990
- Patient Population: Adults & Geriatrics
- Charting System: EPIC electronic health records
- Orientation: Comprehensive classroom and on-unit preceptorship
Med/Surg Telemetry RN Qualifications
- Active RN license (compact or Ohio state license required at submission)
- Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg Telemetry RN experience
- Graduate of an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
- BLS certification (required)
- Strong telemetry interpretation and monitoring skills
- Previous travel nursing experience preferred
- Oncology nursing experience preferred but not required
- ONS Chemotherapy certification preferred
- Ability to float to other Med/Surg Oncology units as needed
- Two professional references required (one from a manager/director or formal leadership)
- Compliance with Ohio fingerprinting process
- Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only)
Med/Surg Tele RN Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients with solid tumor cancers, from diagnosis through treatment and end-of-life care
- Administer chemotherapy and blood products (as qualified)
- Interpret and monitor telemetry for cardiac patients
- Manage central lines, ports, IVs, and tracheostomies
- Implement infection prevention and fall prevention protocols
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, and social services
- Document patient care using EPIC electronic charting system
- Participate in self-scheduling and adapt to rotating shifts based on unit needs
- Float to other Med/Surg Oncology units as required
