- Job Title: Travel Med/Surg Registered Nurse (RN)
- Location: Weirton, WV 26062 (West Virginia nursing jobs)
- Healthcare Setting: Acute Care, Medical-Surgical Unit
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks (Start: 1/19/2026 – End: 4/20/2026)
- Shift: 12-hour nights (7pm–7am), including scheduled weekends
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
- Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $1820–$1950
- Unit Size: 48 beds
- Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 1:6–8 (night shift)
- EMR System: Cerner Soarian
- Scrub Color: Navy blue
Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in West Virginia or compact state (required for travel nursing jobs)
- BLS certification (Basic Life Support)
- Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg RN experience in a U.S. acute care setting
- Proficient in titrating drips (heparin, bumex, lasix; no cardiac drip titration required)
- Ability to float to Medical-Surgical, MS-Tele, or IMC units as needed
- Willing to work every other weekend and participate in holiday rotations
- Valid, unexpired driver’s license required for submission
- First-time travel nurses are encouraged to apply!
Med/Surg RN Responsibilities
- Provide safe, high-quality nursing care to adult patients with diagnoses such as pneumonia, UTI, AMS, GI bleed, alcohol withdrawal, and falls/weakness
- Monitor and assess patient conditions, administer medications, and perform clinical interventions
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams, including respiratory therapists and patient care technicians
- Accurately document patient care and assessments using Cerner Soarian EMR
- Assist with patient hygiene, feeding, toileting, turning, and positioning
- Participate in unit orientation and ongoing nursing education
- Support a positive, flexible team environment and assist with schedule coverage as needed
