Med/Surg RN Job Details

- Assignment Length: 13 weeks (January 26, 2026 – April 25, 2026)
- Healthcare Setting: General Medicine Med/Surg, LAC Resource Team
- Shift: 12-hour nights
- Hours per Week: 36
- Employment Type: Travel nursing assignment
- Start Date: January 26, 2026
- End Date: April 25, 2026
- Estimated Weekly Salary: $1680-$1800
Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of recent Medical-Surgical RN experience required
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Virginia or compact state)
- BLS certification required
- Work history with explanations for any gaps over 90 days
- Skills checklist and copy of Nursys/license required for submission
- Cerner EMR experience preferred
- All requested time off must be submitted at time of application
- Locals within 60 miles are not eligible for this travel nursing job
Med/Surg RN Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality, compassionate patient care on the Medical-Surgical unit
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams, including students and new hires, in a teaching hospital setting
- Perform charge nurse duties as needed (with appropriate training and pay differential)
- Float to sister campus (VBH) as required
- Participate in bi-weekly Monday orientations
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and adhere to hospital policies
- Support a culture of learning, teamwork, and clinical excellence
