Job Description
American Traveler is hiring a Radiology Technologist for a night shift weekender position requiring ARRT certification and a minimum of 2 years experience.
Responsibilities
- Work in a hospital setting providing diagnostic imaging services
- Role involves performing radiographic, portable, c-arm, and fluoroscopic procedures
- Night shifts from Friday to Sunday, 9:00 PM to 7:00 AM, with on-call and holiday rotation
- Patient population includes emergency, inpatient, and surgical cases
- Use of radiology information systems including PACS and electronic medical records
- Operation of mobile radiologic equipment in OR, ER, and at patient bedside
- Perform patient positioning and operate imaging equipment for quality diagnostic studies
- Provide patient education and apply principles of radiation protection
- Assist radiologist in fluoroscopic and special x-ray exams, prepare and help administer contrast media
- Document procedures and medication information in the EMR
- Report and document radiologic safety incidents according to protocol
- Assist with scheduling, patient transport, and providing practical instruction to radiography students and new technologists
- Adhere to ALARA principles and patient safety standards during all procedures
- Holiday and on-call rotations required as part of the schedule
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited School of Radiologic Technology
- Minimum of 2 years recent experience as a radiologic technologist
- Active ARRT Radiography registration required
- IEMA-DNS radiography accreditation required if working in Illinois (license required if applicable)
- BLS certification required (or must obtain within 90 days)
- Expert level knowledge of EMR, PACS, and imaging equipment
