RN Position Job Notes:
Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.
Opportunity:
RN - Med Surg Orthopedics Tele
Job Details:
• Work 12-hour shifts preferred with every other weekend requirement
• Patient ratios: 1:5 during days, 1:6 during nights
• Float to similar Med Surg Telemetry units (D1, F2) as needed
• Participate in daily MDRs on day shift Monday-Friday from 10:30-11:00/11:15 AM
• Work on 48-bed unit with average census of 27 patients
• Required certifications: RN License, ACLS, BLS
• Use Altera/Allscripts Sunrise documentation system
• Work with equipment including Hoyer lift, automated BP machines, bladder scanner, remote telemetry monitoring, and vein finder
• Must have Med/Surg Telemetry skillset including head-to-toe assessment and orthopedic care knowledge
• Perform IV medication administration including management of Lasix drip, heparin drip, IVP metoprolol diltiazem and insulin IV or subQ
• Provide wound care including drain management and VACs
• Manage NGT/G tube care and parenteral nutrition
• Handle central line management for PICC/HD catheter/midlines
• Provide foley/nephrostomy/suprapubic catheter care and ostomy care
• Deliver postoperative patient care
• Dress code requires scrubs and closed-toe shoes (no crocs)
• Unit support includes 1 unit secretary 7a-11p and PCT with 1:10-15 ratio
