Travel Nursing Job Details
- Location: Watertown, NY 13601 (New York healthcare job)
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks
- Shift: 8-hour days (Monday–Friday)
- Hours per Week: 40 guaranteed
- Employment Type: Travel Registered Nurse
- On Call: Required (30-minute response time)
- Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $2350–$2520
Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Active NYS Registered Nurse (RN) license required
- Minimum 2 years of recent Operating Room RN experience
- Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing
- BLS certification required (American Heart Association preferred)
- ACLS certification preferred
- At least 1 year of medical/surgical nursing experience preferred
- Candidates without recent OR experience must complete and pass the Association of Operating Room Nursing Peri-operative 101 Education Program
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to interpret lethal dysrhythmias
Operating Room Nurse Responsibilities
- Deliver safe, effective, and compassionate perioperative nursing care to surgical patients
- Assess and address patient needs, including clinical, educational, and emotional aspects
- Identify and resolve safety issues for patients and staff, including safe patient movement
- Operate clinical equipment and maintain aseptic technique in the operating room
- Demonstrate strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills in high-pressure situations
- Prioritize, delegate, and assume charge nurse duties as needed
- Maintain excellent communication and collaboration with the surgical healthcare team
