- Location: Indianapolis, IN 46202 – Downtown healthcare jobs with access to cultural attractions, dining, and parks.
- Estimated Weekly Salary: $1950-$2090
- Contract Length: 13 weeks (Start: 1/12/2026 – End: 4/13/2026)
- Shift: Day shifts, 3x12-hour (07:00 – 19:00)
- Hours per Week: 36
- On-Call: 6 call shifts per 6-week period
- Holiday Coverage: Work 2 out of 3 major holidays
- Floating: Required within hospital and affiliate healthcare sites
- Scrub Color: Provided
- Charting System: Cerner
- Patient Population: Adolescents, Adults, Geriatrics
- Average Daily Census: 70-80 surgical cases
- Number of OR Rooms: 21
- Parking: Free
Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of recent Operating Room RN experience (or at least 1 year Level I Trauma experience)
- Active Indiana RN license required prior to start date
- BLS certification required
- Level I Trauma nursing experience required
- Ability to circulate required; scrub nurse experience preferred
- Experience with a wide range of surgical procedures (see responsibilities below)
- Two supervisor references required
- Willingness to float within scope to meet facility needs
- Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions accepted)
- Graduation from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
Operating Room Nurse Responsibilities
- Circulate and assist in surgical procedures: general, plastic, GYN, ENT, trauma, neuro, ortho, GU, colorectal, and robotics
- Operate advanced equipment including Da Vinci Xi Surgical System
- Deliver patient care for adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations
- Respond to trauma cases and support Level I trauma protocols
- Float to other hospital units as needed (excluding CV & Transplant)
- Participate in on-call rotation and holiday coverage
- Maintain accurate documentation using Cerner EMR system
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to provide high-quality patient care
