Ohio Nursing Job Details
- Location: Columbus, Ohio (43210) – Experience vibrant culture, renowned dining, and beautiful parks in this energetic university city.
- Assignment Length: 13-16 weeks
- Start Date: January 5, 2026
- End Date: April 27, 2026
- Shift: Night shifts, 3x12-hour (19:00 - 07:30); Day/Night option available
- Hours per Week: 36
- Unit: 15 East, Acute Leukemia (24 beds, daily census ~22)
- Self-scheduling: Requests accommodated prior to finalizing schedule
- Orientation: 1 week dayshift classroom, 36 hours on-unit with preceptor
- Estimated Weekly Salary: $2160 - $2210
Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience, including recent oncology experience
- Travel RN experience required
- Active Registered Nurse license (compact or Ohio state license)
- Graduate of an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, ONS Chemotherapy Certification
- Preferred certification: NIHSS
- Proficiency with EPIC charting system
- Two professional references (one must be from a manager/director or formal leader)
- Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only); COVID-19 vaccine not required
Oncology Nurse Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to adults and geriatric patients with acute leukemia and hematologic conditions
- Administer chemotherapy and blood products, manage central and peripheral lines, and monitor for complications
- Implement infection prevention and patient falls protocols
- Interpret telemetry and respond to rapid response situations
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including PT, RT, pharmacy, and social services
- Float to other MedSurg Oncology units as needed
- Participate in self-scheduling and accommodate variable weekend shifts based on unit needs
- Utilize advanced equipment such as GE telemetry, Alaris pumps, and Stryker beds
