Travel Nursing Job Details
- Location: Peoria, Illinois 61605 (Central Illinois healthcare jobs)
- Facility Setting: High Acuity Intensive Care Unit (ICU, 8 beds)
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks (Start: 1/5/2026 – End: 4/6/2026)
- Shift: 12-hour days (7:00am – 7:00pm), rotating weekends and holidays
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
- Estimated Weekly Salary: $1880 - $2020
- Employment Type: Travel RN, W2 contract
- Charting System: Epic EMR
ICU Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois or proof of application in process
- Minimum 1 year of recent ICU nursing experience required
- BLS and ACLS certifications (American Heart Association)
- Clinical skills in PEG tube care/feedings, CVC/PICC/Midline management, and tracheostomy care
- Proficient in caring for sedated and ventilated patients; skilled in titrating vasopressors, sedation, and pain control drips
- Ability to interpret telemetry strips and operate Phillips telemetry monitors
- Must pass a comprehensive drug screen (Drug-Free Campus)
ICU RN Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality, compassionate nursing care to critically ill patients in a fast-paced ICU setting
- Manage a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:2-3, providing direct patient care without nurse aides or patient care techs
- Administer and titrate ICU-level drips, including Precedex, Propofol, Fentanyl, Versed, Lasix, Insulin, Amiodarone, Nitro, Levophed, Dopamine, and Cardizem
- Care for patients with respiratory failure, post-surgical needs, wound care, IV antibiotics, post-CVA, post-trauma, and cardiac conditions
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team, including house supervisors, 24/7 respiratory therapists, and tele-health MDs after hours
- Float to the Medical-Surgical unit as needed
- Participate in scheduled holiday and weekend rotations
- Comply with all hospital policies, including dress code (scrubs, any color) and orientation requirements
