Registered Nurse Job Details
- Position Type: Travel Registered Nurse (RN) Contract
- Location: Columbus, Ohio 43210
- Unit: Labor & Delivery, High Risk Obstetrics (6 Doan Hall)
- Shift: 3x12-Hour Night Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 12/1/2025 – End: 3/2/2026)
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $2050 - $2100
- Patient Population: Neonates, Adolescents, Adults
- Bed Count: 13
- Daily Census: 10
- Weekend Coverage: Required
- Orientation: 36 hours
Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery RN experience
- Active Registered Nurse license (compact or Ohio RN license required)
- Graduate of an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
- BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications required
- NCC C-EFM or AWHONN Advanced certification
- EPIC EMR charting experience required
- Strong IV start and Labor & Delivery clinical skills
- Previous travel nurse experience preferred
- Ability to float to Antepartum or other healthcare units as needed
- Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only)
- Two professional references required (manager/director or supervisor; Charge RN acceptable)
Labor & Delivery RN Responsibilities
- Provide expert nursing care to laboring mothers and newborns, including high-risk obstetrics cases
- Perform and assist with IV starts, epidural anesthesia, C-sections, and fetal monitoring
- Administer medications and therapies such as magnesium sulfate and Pitocin
- Monitor and interpret fetal heart rate patterns using EFM and IUPC
- Support breastfeeding, lactation, and postpartum care
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (IV, PT, RT, Radiology, Social Services, Pharmacy, etc.)
- Float to Antepartum or other hospital units as required
- Maintain accurate documentation using EPIC electronic medical records
- Participate in patient triage, assessment, and discharge planning
