NICU RN Travel Job Details
- Location: Richmond, VA 23219 (Virginia healthcare jobs)
- Facility: Level IV NICU (Single-Family Room, 40 beds)
- Assignment Type: Travel Registered Nurse
- Start Date: January 5, 2026
- End Date: April 6, 2026
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks
- Shifts: Rotating 12-hour shifts (Days: 07:00-19:00, Nights: 19:00-07:00), 3 shifts/week
- Hours per Week: 36
- Weekend Coverage: Required
- Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $1820-$1950
- Orientation: 16 hours classroom + 20 hours modules (total 36 hours)
NICU Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of recent NICU RN experience (travel nursing experience required)
- Active Registered Nurse license in Virginia or compact state (must be in hand at submission)
- BLS (Basic Life Support) and NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certifications required
- Proficiency with Epic EMR charting system
- BSN (Bachelor of Science in Nursing) preferred
- Ability to float within scope as needed
- Two professional references required
NICU RN Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality, family-centered care to neonates in a Level IV NICU setting
- Administer medications, blood products, and manage advanced neonatal equipment (ventilators, CPAP, central lines, etc.)
- Monitor and interpret vital signs, perform assessments, and respond to changes in patient condition
- Support breastfeeding and provide family education
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including respiratory therapy, pharmacy, and social services
- Document patient care accurately using Epic electronic medical records
- Participate in orientation modules and ongoing nursing education as required
