Medical/Surgical RN Job Details
- Location: Akron, OH 44304 (Ohio nursing jobs)
- Unit: 28-bed Medical/Surgical Unit (6 West)
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks (12/14/2025 – 3/14/2026)
- Shift: 12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Employment Type: Travel RN, On-Site
- Patient Ratio: 1:5/6
- Estimated Weekly Salary: $1910-$1960
Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of recent Medical/Surgical RN experience (Med/Surg nurse jobs)
- Active RN license (Nursys verification required)
- BLS certification (Basic Life Support) required
- Epic EMR experience within the last 12 months (must be listed on resume)
- Degree from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
- Ability to float to other units as needed
- Availability to work every other weekend and holiday
- Maximum of 7 days requested time off (RTO) allowed during assignment
- Driver's License or State ID required for submission
RN Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality, evidence-based nursing care to geriatric and medical/surgical patients
- Implement the 4Ms framework: What Matters, Medication, Mentation, and Mobility
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to promote patient wellness and prevent functional decline
- Monitor, assess, and document patient conditions and treatment responses
- Administer medications and perform prescribed treatments
- Float to other hospital units as required
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation using Epic EMR
- Participate in unit-based initiatives to improve patient outcomes
