Med/Surg RN Job Details
- Location: Amarillo, TX 79106 (Texas Panhandle healthcare jobs)
- Unit: Medical-Surgical / Orthopedic (35 beds)
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks (Start: 12/1/2025 – End: 3/2/2026)
- Shift: Night shifts, 3x12-hour (19:00 – 07:30)
- Weekly Hours: 36
- Patient Ratio: 1:6
- EMR: EPIC (recent experience required)
- Travel Requirement: Must reside at least 50 miles from facility
- Estimated Weekly Salary: $1460 - $1500

Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license – Texas or compact state
- Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg RN experience
- BLS and NIHSS certifications required (NIHSS assistance available)
- Recent EPIC charting experience (within last 6 months)
- Experience with orthopedic and medical-surgical patient populations
- Ability to float to units of equal or lesser acuity
- First-time travelers and experienced travel nurses welcome
- Scrub color: Any (no logos)
- Must live at least 50 miles from the facility
Med/Surg RN Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in a fast-paced Med/Surg-Ortho unit
- Monitor, assess, and document patient status using EPIC EMR
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Pharmacy, etc.)
- Perform wound care, manage peripheral lines, and assist with total joint replacement patients
- Follow isolation precautions and non-invasive airway management protocols
- Float to similar acuity units as needed
- Complete onsite orientation and required training modules
