Travel Nurse Job Details
- Job Title: Med/Surg Registered Nurse – Float Pool (Travel Nursing)
- Location: Kalamazoo, Michigan (ZIP 49007) – Michigan nursing jobs
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks (Start: January 12, 2026 – End: April 13, 2026)
- Healthcare Setting: Acute Care, Medical Surgical Float Pool
- Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM), every other weekend required
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $1910 – $1960
- Orientation: 8 hours (completed during first 2 weeks)
- Flu Vaccine: Required (medical exemptions accepted)
Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Active Michigan RN license required
- At least 1 year of recent Med/Surg nursing experience
- Current ACLS and BLS certifications (AHA)
- Experience with Epic EMR charting system
- Comfortable managing Med/Surg patient ratios (4-6:1)
- Available for orientation during first 2 weeks of assignment
- Professional nursing references required
- First-year travel nurses welcome to apply
Med/Surg RN Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality, compassionate nursing care to adult and geriatric patients across multiple Medical Surgical units
- Float to assigned units: AU, OSU, GSU, NVU, CAR, GMU, AMU, EMCU; may also float to critical care units for Med/Surg/IMC overflow
- Manage patient care according to established nurse-to-patient ratios and clinical protocols
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including respiratory therapy, pharmacy, rapid response, and interpretation services
- Document patient care accurately in Epic EMR
- Complete required orientation and annual training modules
- Maintain compliance with hospital policies, including vaccination requirements
