Travel Nurse Job Details
- Job Title: ICU Registered Nurse – Critical Care Float Pool (Travel Assignment)
- Location: Kalamazoo, Michigan (ZIP 49007)
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks (January 12, 2026 – April 13, 2026)
- Healthcare Setting: Critical Care Float Pool (ICU and Med-Surg units)
- Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
- Hours per Week: 36 hours guaranteed
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $1910 – $1960
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- Orientation: 2 weeks (includes 8 hours of training modules)
- Flu Vaccine: Required (medical exemptions accepted)
Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Active Michigan RN license required
- Minimum 1 year of recent ICU and Med-Surg nursing experience
- Current ACLS and BLS certifications (AHA)
- Comfortable with patient ratios: Med-Surg 4-6:1, ICU 2-3:1
- Ability to float between ICU and Med-Surg units as needed
- Must be available for the first 2 weeks of assignment for orientation
- Professional references required
- Open to first-year travel nurses
ICU RN Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality, compassionate care to adult and geriatric patients in ICU and Med-Surg settings
- Float to assigned units: TCU, CSU, MICU, NCCU, and Med-Surg units (AU, OSU, GSU, NVU, CAR, GMU, AMU, EMCU)
- Manage patient care according to clinical protocols and established patient ratios
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams for optimal patient outcomes
- Accurately document care in the electronic medical record (EMR)
- Complete all required orientation and training modules
- Maintain compliance with facility policies, including vaccination requirements
