ICU Registered Nurse Job Details
- Location: Kalamazoo, Michigan (ZIP: 49007) – Southwest Michigan healthcare jobs
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks (Start: 1/12/2026 – End: 4/13/2026)
- Setting: Critical Care Float Pool (Med-Surg and ICU units)
- Shift: 12-hour nights (19:00 – 07:30)
- Hours per Week: 36 hours guaranteed
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $1910 - $1960
- Employment Type: Travel RN contract
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- Orientation: Must be available for the first 2 weeks
ICU RN Qualifications
- Active Michigan Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Minimum 1 year of recent RN experience in Med-Surg and/or ICU settings
- ACLS (AHA) and BCLS (AHA) certifications required
- Comfortable with patient ratios: Med-Surg (4-6:1), ICU (2-3:1)
- Ability to float between Med-Surg and Critical Care units
- Flu vaccination required (medical exemptions accepted)
- Professional references required

ICU Registered Nurse Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality, compassionate patient care to adult and geriatric populations in both Med-Surg and ICU settings
- Float between multiple hospital units: Med-Surg (AU, OSU, GSU, NVU, CAR, GMU, AMU, EMCU) and Critical Care (TCU, CSU, MICU, NCCU)
- Manage patient loads according to unit ratios and acuity
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to develop and implement individualized care plans
- Accurately document patient care and clinical interventions
- Participate in required orientation and annual training modules
- Adhere to hospital policies, including holiday and weekend scheduling requirements
