ICU RN Job Details
- Location: Kalamazoo, MI 49048 (Michigan healthcare job)
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $1770–$1820
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks (Start: 12/8/2025 – End: 3/9/2026)
- Healthcare Setting: Intensive Care Unit (ICU) – Surgical, Neuro, Cardiac
- Shifts: 3x12-hour night shifts (19:00 – 07:30)
- Hours per Week: 36 hours guaranteed
- Weekend & Holiday: Every other weekend and every other holiday required
- Floating: May float to ICU stepdown or other critical care nursing units as needed
- Patient Ratio: 1:2
- Charting System: Cerner Powerchart
- Scrub Color: Caribbean Blue
ICU Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of recent ICU RN experience required (first-time travel nurses welcome)
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Michigan or compact state, or willing to obtain)
- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
- Preferred certifications: TNCC, CRRT
- Experience with Cerner charting system preferred
- Must reside at least 50 miles from facility (no local candidates)
- COVID-19 and Flu vaccinations required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
ICU RN Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality, compassionate care to critically ill adult and geriatric patients in the ICU
- Manage complex conditions: post-STEMI, stroke, trauma, sepsis, post-surgical, multi-system organ dysfunction
- Operate advanced ICU equipment: CRRT, balloon pumps, Impella devices
- Administer and titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips, manage ventilators, perform advanced monitoring (arterial lines, CVP, ICP)
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including PT, RT, pharmacy, and social services
- Float to other critical care or stepdown units as needed
- Maintain accurate documentation and follow infection prevention protocols
- Complete orientation and required modules prior to assignment start
