Med/Surg Tele RN Job Details

- Shift: 3x12-Hour Nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Estimated Weekly Salary: $1940 - $1990
- Healthcare Setting: Surgical Step-Down/Progressive Care Unit
- Patient Population: Adults & Geriatrics
- Unit Size: 23 beds, daily census of 22
- Weekend Coverage: Required
- Orientation: 24 hours
Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg Telemetry RN experience in a hospital or healthcare setting
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license – Ohio state or compact nursing license required
- Graduate of an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
- BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications required
- IV certification required
- Proven experience monitoring and interpreting telemetry
- Must pass telemetry test
- EPIC electronic health record (EHR) charting experience required
- Ability to float to units of equivalent or lower acuity as needed
- Two professional references required (one from a manager, director, or formal leader)
- Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only)
Med/Surg Tele RN Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in a surgical step-down/progressive care unit
- Monitor and interpret telemetry, manage IVs, and administer medications as a skilled Med/Surg Telemetry RN
- Perform general nursing duties, including phlebotomy, wound care, and patient education
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams such as IV teams, physical therapy, and respiratory services
- Document patient care using EPIC EHR system
- Float to other hospital units as required based on census and staffing needs
- Participate in rapid response and code teams as needed
- Ensure compliance with all hospital policies and healthcare regulations
