Travel RN Job Details – Roanoke, VA
- Location: Roanoke, VA 24014 (Virginia travel nursing jobs)
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks (Start: 12/29/2025 – End: 3/30/2026)
- Shift: 12-hour night shifts (18:45 – 07:15)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Unit: Medical/Pulmonary PCU with Renal Overflow (20 beds, adult and geriatric patients)
- Charting System: EPIC (EPIC experience required)
- Weekend Requirement: 6 weekend shifts per 6-week scheduling block
- Floating: May float to other PCU or Medical-Surgical units as needed
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $1910 - $1960
Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Virginia or Compact State (pending license accepted for non-compact single-state license holders)
- Minimum 1 year of recent PCU/Stepdown RN experience (travel nurse experience preferred)
- Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
- Proficiency with EPIC electronic health record system
- Experience in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and administration of cardiac drips (no titration)
- IV therapy, phlebotomy, blood product administration, and central/peripheral line care
- Ventilator care for chronic vented patients (non-ICU level)
- COVID-19 and Flu vaccines required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
PCU RN Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients with pulmonary, renal, and complex medical conditions
- Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms, manage dysrhythmias, and administer specified cardiac drips
- Provide ventilator care for chronic trach patients; manage non-invasive airway support (CPAP, BiPAP, nasal cannula, oxygen administration)
- Perform IV therapy, phlebotomy, blood product administration, and central/peripheral line care
- Participate in Rapid Response and Code teams; adhere to isolation precautions and infection control standards
- Document patient care accurately using EPIC electronic health records
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including physical therapy, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, and more
- Float to other Progressive Care or Medical-Surgical units as needed within your skillset
