Operating Room Technician Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program
- Current ORT (Operating Room Technician) certification required
- BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support) certification required
- Minimum 1 year of recent experience as an OR Tech or Surgical Technologist in a hospital or clinical healthcare setting
- Strong communication skills and ability to work with multidisciplinary healthcare teams
- Commitment to confidentiality and supporting the hospital's mission and values
Key Responsibilities for Surgical Technologists
- Maintain safe, sterile setup and handling of all surgical instrumentation during scheduled and emergency procedures
- Gather and prepare all necessary instruments and supplies as indicated on surgeon pick sheets
- Assist with pressure assignments, clerical duties, and other department-related tasks as needed
- Uphold high standards of infection control and patient safety throughout all surgical procedures
