Med/Surg RN Job Details

- Unit: Medical/Surgical Unit 4
- Assignment Type: Travel Registered Nurse (RN)
- Start Date: December 22, 2025
- End Date: March 22, 2026
- Duration: 13-week travel nursing contract
- Shift: 12-hour day shifts, every other weekend
- Hours per Week: 36
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,840 - $1,980 per week
Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Active Illinois RN license required
- At least 1 year of recent Medical/Surgical nursing experience
- BLS certification (American Heart Association preferred)
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
- Ability to pass a dysrhythmia exam (up to 2 attempts permitted)
- Strong clinical assessment, communication, and patient care skills
Med/Surg RN Responsibilities
- Provide safe, compassionate, and effective nursing care to patients in the Medical/Surgical unit
- Monitor, assess, and document patient conditions and progress in accordance with Illinois healthcare standards
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to develop and implement individualized care plans
- Administer medications, treatments, and procedures as prescribed by physicians
- Educate patients and families on health management, discharge planning, and post-hospital care
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, clinical protocols, and regulatory standards
